My daughter feeling the wool that the Indigenous people wove into blankets at the La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, Ca. The State wants to shut this Mission down. This is the only working Mission in the State of California, from what I understand.

I had to buy some yarn and picked some up at this store in Solvang.
I had a hard time picking up the stitches correctly with this method. I searched the author, Antje Gillingham, and found her site. I wanted to see if there was a corrections page or a message board. I submitted my question about my problems and the author responded! Mrs. Gillingham said to make sure that I don't turn both heels and then try to pick up stitches - which is exactly what I was doing. http://www.knittingnest.com
Go to the Ewe Talk message board if you're interested in her expanation.
I really liked the book and recommend it for yourself or as a gift.

Here's my Shiz-poo CupCake - she's a sweetheart and adores my husband.
I finally have a place of my own to show some of my knitting to friends and family that are interested taking a peek. I figure this way I can stop sending you email hoping the picture came through! This blog also alleviates me trying to upload the same picture to several groups.
I am working on the book, Knitting Circles Around Socks by Antje Gillingham. This is where you knit 2 socks at the same time on 2 sets of circular needles. It's not a problem until right after you do the heel flap. I cannot figure out how to pick up the stitches correctly. So, I thought I'd give myself a break and start a blog of all things! Getting Flickr and Vox to work is just as frustrating to me!
I am interested in charity knitting and will be posting the links as soon as I figure it out.
I am looking for a good sweater 101 book or link that shows you how to make a sweater step-by-step. I have the basics down but I am a little confused on a few parts. I have made miniature sweaters but somehow that doesn't quite add up when I try to piece my work together.
I am a fan of Knitty Gritty and Knit and Crochet Today with "Blair" - although I notice that she seems just a little too much in character from time to time on the show - but I love her anyway!
